Shilajit for Mental Health

The active compounds in Shilajit may help regulate your nervous system so you can manage stress and anxiety while protecting your brain. That’s pretty Lajit if you ask me.

With a name like “The Destroyer of Weakness” it’s no surprise that Shilajit has many benefits for the physical body. Shilajit for mental health isn’t discussed as much, but there’s strong evidence that this powerful nutraceutical can have a positive impact on your mental and emotional state.

The first body of work I want to point out is a study in the International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. The authors did a great job exploring the origin and history of shilajit and its many uses. Although more research and clinical trials are necessary, shilajit may be a viable option for the treatment and prevention of cognitive disorders, such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s.

Shilajit naturally stimulates dopamine secretion which also reduces anxiety and cortisol. Some of the calming effects that shilajit can have are due to the high amounts of bioavailable minerals, like magnesium and potassium.

Athletes love shilajit for its performance enhancing benefits and the way it speeds up recovery time. The electrolytes we lose when we sweat also play a vital role in the way we feel. Anxiety and depression are usually present when some of these nutrients are missing.

Nothing can dim the light that's within

Mental health is a serious topic and by no means am I suggesting that Shilajit is a cureall. However, it has helped many people improve their day to day lives simply by adding it to their coffee or tea in the morning. People commonly report feeling more energy, focus and an overall better mood after taking high quality shilajit.

Have you noticed any of these benefits while taking Shilajit? Let us know in the comments below and share this post if you found it helpful.
